background

Remark Group came to us with the kind of problem that's common for established B2B engineering firms: a strong, growing business sitting behind a website that no longer represented it. Over the past several years Remark had expanded well beyond its original service base, evolving into a true multidisciplinary integrator covering five distinct practice areas: Infrastructure, Smart Workplaces, Access & Security, Renewables, and the wider services that support them. Their existing website hadn't kept up. The breadth of the offering was buried, the navigation didn't reflect how prospects actually buy, and the visual identity felt dated next to the calibre of clients and accreditations the business had earned. With sales conversations increasingly starting online, and often with procurement, facilities and IT teams comparing several specialists in parallel, the website had become a bottleneck rather than a sales asset.

challenge

The brief looked simple on the surface, a redesign and rebuild, but the underlying problem was strategic. Remark's portfolio spans services that, at most agencies, would each be marketed by a separate company: high-voltage electrical infrastructure, structured cabling, wireless networks, AV and video conferencing, sound masking, perimeter security, CCTV, access control, and the infrastructure behind solar and battery storage projects. The old site treated all of these as a flat list, which meant that a facilities director researching access control had to wade through unrelated services to find what they needed, and a renewables developer had no obvious entry point at all. Buyers were leaving before they understood what Remark actually did.

There were also harder constraints. Remark serves heavily regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government) where credibility is non-negotiable, so trust signals like accreditations, certifications and partner logos needed to be designed in, not bolted on. The new site also had to be straightforward for an internal marketing team to extend over time as new services and case studies launched, without developer involvement. And because much of Remark's traffic comes from technical buyers searching for very specific terms, the site had to be rebuilt with on-page SEO and information architecture aligned to how those buyers actually search.

solution

We started with a discovery phase covering stakeholder interviews across sales, operations and marketing, a competitor audit of other UK infrastructure and AV integrators, and a review of search and analytics data to understand which services were already pulling traffic and which were being missed. The strategic insight that came out of this phase shaped everything that followed: Remark's competitors were either single-discipline specialists or generic IT resellers, and no one was credibly positioning themselves as a true multidisciplinary integrator. The website needed to make that positioning legible in a single scroll of the homepage, and then carry it through into the structure of every section beneath.

From there, we restructured the site around five clear practice areas (Infrastructure, Renewables, Smart Workplaces, Access & Security, and Who We Are), with each pillar broken down into the services beneath it and routed for the specific audiences who buy them. We designed a new visual system anchored by a confident, engineered aesthetic that matched the calibre of Remark's project work, with accreditations, sector coverage and partner brands featured as primary trust elements rather than footer afterthoughts. The site was built on a custom WordPress theme with a modular block library so the marketing team can publish new services, case studies and sector pages without involving a developer. On-page SEO was built in from the foundations: clean URL structures, schema markup, optimised metadata and fast Core Web Vitals, so each service page is positioned to rank for the technical terms its buyers are searching.

result

The new Remark Group website now communicates the full scope of the business in a way the old site never could. Buyers from each sector have a clear path into the services that matter to them, the brand finally reflects the calibre of the work, and the marketing team has a platform that scales with the business rather than holding it back. Most importantly, the site now functions as a genuine sales asset, turning organic and referral traffic into qualified enquiries.
